Purple Poncho & Spotted Romper

Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. One of my favorite color combinations for the Fall is purple and yellow, a complementary color combination. A year ago today, I was still in my safety zone, playing with basic colors of black, white, navy, and burgundy. Occasionally, I would throw in a cobalt blue or cherry red, but that was the brightest I wore. This year, I really ventured out of my comfort zone adding mustard yellow to my closet. I love wearing a deep purple during the colder seasons, so pairing this purple poncho with a mustard yellow satchel was a perfect pop of color without being overwhelming, great for relaxing and enjoying the view of the city.

I really love this romper (last seen here), and wanted to take it out for a spin before the weather gets too cold. This romper transitions really well from Summer to Fall by adding a pair of black tights underneath. To dress up the look, you can wear a pair of black booties for date night or you can wear it with black flats for a more casual and comfortable look. The concept of wearing black tights with black shoes is equivalent to wearing nude pumps, it visually elongates the legs and makes them look slimmer.

Poncho : Old Navy (similar here), Romper : Loft
Shoes : Michael Michael Kors (similar here and here),
Bag : 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target (view entire collection here)
Accessories : Belt from Banana Republic (here), Bracelet from C. Wonder,
Rings from Gorjana (similar here), Tights from Uniqlo (here)

Thank you so much for reading! :)

I was just in Jersey City this past weekend looking at wedding venues but hopefully one of these days I'll go there just for fun.
