Nautical Stripes & Refreshing Lemonade

Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. I'm so glad that the heat wave has passed after the rain Saturday night. It's still hot as expected since it is Summer, but now there are breezes every so often and I feel like I can actually breathe now. Here is a very simple outfit that I wore over the weekend. I wore this navy and white striped shift dress and paired it with white accessories as usual. I added my red J. Crew Mini Edie since I didn't need to lug around a big bag that day. The bag added a great touch of color and also extended the nautical color scheme. This outfit would be great with a pair of sandals or wedges if you will be doing a lot of walking, but since I came from work, I wore this with my Kate Spade Paloma Heels.

I picked up this dress from Loft back in May (seen here) when it was on sale for $59.99 plus an additional 50% off making it $29.99. It's a really cute shift dress and made of a think ponte material. I've gotten a handful of wears out of it already. Dresses are my favorite items in my closet during the summer, they require little to no thinking. I usually just add on a statement necklace and I'm ready to walk out the door.

Dress : Loft sz XXSP (similar here), Shoes : Kate Spade sz 5 (here)
Bag : J. Crew Mini Edie, Accessories : Bracelet from J. Crew (here), Necklace from J. Crew (here),
Rings from Gorjana (similar here)

When dealing with the summer heat, it is important to stay hydrated throughout the day. When the sun is draining out my energy, I like to sip on some freshly squeezed lemonade, it is so refreshing.

Thank you so much for reading! :)

  11. Literally obsessed with your shoes! I've never been a huge fan of white leather pumps because for the most part, it's difficult to find one that looks good, and also because maintenance seems like a headache but I can't get over these! I admire them every time you blog a new outfit in them...lol :)

  12. I always though shift dresses would overwhelm petite frames so I was always scared to buy them but this looks really great on you!

  14. Thanks Erica! I never thought I'd get so many wears out of these, but seems like they are the only shoes I wear nowadays at work =)

  15. Thanks Tiffany! Shift dresses can sometimes overwhelm the petite frame because it essentially has no shape, but I think as long as it is fitted in the bust and shoulders, it isn't as bad and sometimes can help hide post food belly =)
