July 4th : Red, White, and Blue

Hi Everyone! Just a quick hello & Happy Independence Day to those who celebrate it! It's been a good two weeks since I last posted, but I've just been so busy lately, I've really been looking forward to having today off for what seems like forever. To me, July 4th is all about taking advantage of the day off to spend time with your family, friends, and loved ones. What better than to have a barbecue or just a picnic at the park. We've been having thunderstorm advisory for the past week and a half or so, hopefully the weather will turn up on the East Coast. Getting into the 4th of July spirit, I decided to go with my scarf pattern dress from Express since it has hints of red, white, and blue in it. I like that the dress isn't form fitting which allows me to eat up during the barbecue. I kept the rest of the outfit really casual with cognac wedges and a cross-body turned into a clutch.

These wedges are my most comfortable pair of shoes. They are only 3 inches, not too high, but still gives me some height, and they are super light and padded at the sole. They are from Anne Klein, a brand that I've never tried before, and I picked them up at Macy's. I think that brown is probably the safest color you can go with during the Summer since it goes with anything practically.

Dress : Express sz XS (similar here and here), Shoes : Anne Klein sz 5 (similar here)
Bag : Zara, Accessories : Bracelets from C. Wonder (here) and J. Crew (here),
Earrings from Banana Republic, Necklace from Nadri (here and similar here), Rings from C. Wonder

I like to keep the rest of my jewelry simple during the summer time. The lighter it is, the better, less sweat and less frustration. I added pops of color with yellow studs from Banana Republic and my Initial Cuff from C. Wonder.

How do you celebrate Independence Day?
