Hi Everyone! Hope everyone's having a great week so far. We're already hitting the end of May, seems so surreal because it feels like January was just yesterday. Around this time, a lot of people will be attending Graduation, whether for themselves or their loved ones, me included. This week, my sister is graduating. Honestly, I wasn't sure what exactly to wear. I know there really isn't a dress code for family members, but I wanted to make sure I still looked put together for the photos. Erica from refined couture actually suggested that I wear a flared skirt for my body. You can see her post on what she wore to a graduation here. The weather was so hot and humid, so to combat it, I decided to go with a printed cotton dress and simple black pumps to dress it up. The cotton material kept me cool and the full skirt allowed my legs to breathe.

I saw this dress online, and I adored the print. I really liked the simple color palette of black and blue on a off-white canvas. However, when it arrived, I was a little confused and disappointed at first. The skirt of the dress seems to be put rather low almost making it a drop waist dress, except the ribbon sash that came with it, sat at the natural waist line. I was a little confused, but tried it on anyways. When I tried it on, I was completely shocked. The lowered skirt actually flared out really well when cinched in at the waist, creating a fuller skirt effect. The best part about this dress are the pockets. If you're wondering what the craze is about pockets, it's simple. Pockets are just convenient and handy. It's convenient to hold your lip balm or just some post it notes and comes in handy to just slip your hand in to prevent your skirt from flying up and revealing a rather embarrassing scene on a windy day without being too obvious about it. None the less, when it comes to pockets, I'll choose pockets over none any day.
Are you a pro-pocket person or can you careless about them?
Thank you so much for reading!
