Macarons for Charity : Ladurée & Red Skirt

Hi Everyone! Happy Friday! Quick question : have you ever wore a graphic t-shirt to work? Depending on your work environment, you might be able to get away with it for a Casual Friday look. Normally, I'm not a graphic tee type of girl, I tend to wear blouses or just plain t-shirts more because they are much more versatile since I can wear them for work or play. When I saw this t-shirt, I couldn't stop thinking about it. (Briefly mentioned here) I love macarons, so you can probably understand why I fell in love with it. Out of the whole Uniqlo x Ladurée collection, this one was my favorite. It wasn't overwhelmed with patterns, and has a lot of colors in it which makes it easier for pairings. I don't own a lot of graphic t-shirts to be honest, this it probably one of a handful that I would wear, and at $19.90, I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical at first. I tried to think of three different outfits in which I could wear this t-shirt before taking the plunge. On a brighter note, at least I know a portion of my purchase goes to helping children in Japan that were affected by the tsunami back in 2011. Macarons + Cute Shirt + Charity? Count me in!

This is my first attempt at dressing up a graphic T. Not only is red already a color in the shirt, I also chose it because it is such a classic bold color. Sure, you can pair this with a navy, black, or white, but I really wanted to highlight the T-shirt, so I chose a brighter color for the outfit. I stuck with a black belt, clutch and shoes to keep it more office - friendly. Of course, I didn't walk around my work place in just a t-shirt, I actually wore this outfit with a white blazer, but it was way too hot and humid to put on for some pictures.

How do you wear your graphic T-shirts?

  3. Love your top and your graphic tee pairing! Very chic :) I went through a graphic tee phase during my freshman year of high school (way too long ago), and only recently got back into it. There are so many graphic tees/tanks now that can be dressed up to look very classy, and one of my favorite pairings is with a pair of skinny jeans, pumps, layered jewels, and maybe a blazer or one of the boxy jackets if it's chilly. I could definitely see your Laduree tee being dressed up this way!

I don't think I own a graphic tee lol =) Just like you, I tend to wear plain tees or blouses. Red is definitely your color. It compliments your skin-tone really well.
