Kelly Green Denim & Scalloped Lace

Hi Everyone! Recently, I've got a request on pairing colored bottoms so I thought I would approach this with one of my favorite colors, green. I purchased these green skimmer jeans from Gap Kids for a good $18 and I love them. At first, I was hesitant on how bright these jeans were and worried I wouldn't get much wear out of them. I posted a fitting room picture in this on Instagram and a few of you told me it was good to buy. One thing I love about the kids department is the unbeatable steep sale prices, but most of the time I try to stay away from them because of their lack of shape for an adult body. Nonetheless, these jeans ended up fitting like a glove and the color is perfect for spring pairings. When wearing colored bottoms, it's always safe to wear neutral colors with it since the color of the bottoms already draws so much attention. Here, I paired my green skimmers with a white lace top and nude pumps. The lace top adds a touch of delicacy to the outfit and the lace details really stands out against the green pants. To stay with the neutrals, I took my vintage Coach bag out and added a silk scarf to the outfit ensemble. Although there are so many colors going on in the scarf, I chose it because the pants really brings out the green in the scarf. Some might think this is too matchy matchy, but I think wearing a color already in the print really compliments the scarf and gives you a fresh and simple look. This outfit is perfect for celebrating Spring in bright colors.

Aside from neutrals, I personally think you can pair these green skimmers with classic colors like red or navy. I love the color combination of green and navy. I think it is so eye catchy and the navy really balances out the brightness of the green. If you want to opt for an even more Spring-esque look, you can try the yellow and green combination. The key to wearing bright colors is balance. In the end, you don't want to overwhelm your outfit with loud colors, but rather just focus on one and have the others compliment it.

After eyeing vintage Coach bags on eBay for a few months now, I finally took the plunge and purchased this. I wanted an off white colored one since the neutral color pairs well with almost every color in the color wheel. While watching several ivory Coach bags, I wanted to make sure the bag wasn't too worn and the wasn't discolored before placing my bid. This bag was in a very good condition for a vintage bag and came with a cross body strap. Unfortunately, the strap was too long for my petite frame so I would either have tie a knot to it or just wear the bag as a clutch without the strap. If you're not too keen on used items, you can find an updated version of this bag here in a variety of colors.

I adore this lace top and her details, and I really couldn't pass up on her despite me almost being able to swim in it. After exchanging emails with Annie from Stylish Petite and Jess from whatjesswore on ways to slim this lace top without ruining her, I decided to put her on top of my to-alter pile so be sure to look forward to a post after it is slimmed!

What do you think about bright colored bottoms? How would you wear them?

Thank you so much for reading! :)
