Weekend Stipes + (Faux) Leather

Hi Everyone! Happy Friday! Today I have a casual outfit for the weekend in the city. I decided to experiment with a little layering. Here I am mixing textures by layering a leather jacket over my striped motorcycle knit jacket. I wore a simple white top underneath with a pair of distressed denim jeans. I rolled up the cuffs to add to the casual look and paired it with blue pumps for a pop of color. This outfit is very simple and is perfect when transitioning from Winter to Spring.

Again, I can not stress how much I love stripes. When I saw this jacket online, it was like love at first sight. The draped collar effect and the stripes worked perfectly with one another. Although this was an Extra Small in Petites, I did have to slim down the arms and sides to be more fitted as compared to the original box cut. In this pairing, I used this jacket as an experimental piece by layering a leather jacket over it. The leather jacket gives it a more fitted look and keeps the stripes as a subtle detail peeping out. I would describe this look as city chic.

  2. Trench coats are a great way to transition from winter to spring. They give a little bit of warmth but don't scream winter.

  4. I love how you mixed those textures, and those stripes look amazing on you! I definitely want to try experimenting with stripes this spring especially since they're an upcoming trend. I've never really been able to pull them off!
